Daniel Hernandez Jr., the openly gay intern for Rep. Gabriel Giffords, D-Ariz., who rushed to assist her after a mass shooting in Tucson, was hailed as a hero by President Barack Obama for his quick, selfless response. He will be honored by the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund at the group's Houston Champagne Brunch on April 17.
