Angela Davis to speak in Denver

LONGTIME ACTIVIST ANGELA DAVIS will speak on Saturday, August 11, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Colorado Heights Theater, 3001 South Federal Boulevard in Denver. Dr. Davis, an African American lesbian and longtime civil rights activist, will be joined at the event by longtime civil rights activist Dr. Vincent Harding, who once assisted with writing the speeches of 1960s activist Martin Luther King. Titled “Spirit and Struggle,” the event is sponsored by the Sisters of Loretto who are celebrating their 200-year anniversary this year. 

Tickets range between $8.50 and $50.50 on a sliding scale basis depending on one’s ability to pay. Proceeds from the tickets will be divided equally between Dr. Davis and Dr. Harding for their continued peace and justice work.
