Colorado Lifeline offers cell phones for those with HIV, others

The Colorado Lifeline service  to qualified people in the state of Colorado. The service is limited to where Virgin Mobile operates in Colorado.  To check if you qualify, if service is offered for your zip code or to apply for service visit www.assurancewireless.com/Public/MorePrograms.aspx and then select the CHECK AVAILABILITY tab at the top of the page.
 
Assurance Wireless, by Virgin Mobile on the Sprint network, is offering Lifeline service to qualified people in the state of Colorado.  Unlike other carriers who apply a credit to individual's telephone bill Assurance Wireless provides:
  • FREE cellular phone
  • 250 FREE voice minutes per month added automatically to the account each month 
  • 250 FREE text messages per month added automatically to the account each month
  • Nationwide Sprint network coverage
  • No Activation Fee
  • Voicemail account, Caller ID, and Call Waiting included
  • 911 Access
  • Free calls to Customer Care
  • Users may also purchase additional minutes, text, etc. but are not required to do so in order to receive the 250 Free Voice Minutes and the 250 Free Text messages

A person living in Colorado MAY be eligible for Lifeline if the person is HIV positive or participates in any of the following government programs:
Old Age Pension
Aid to the Blind
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Aid to the Needy/Disabled
Low Income Energy Assistance Program
