Recently, singer-songwriter Matt Gold launched his new website. Now he premieres the new music video for "Ordinary," the first single off his debut album
"Drown Before You Swim." The single was released in late July
and has been garnering hits on SoundCloud and sales on Amazon.
In addition to being visually stunning and exceptionally well
produced, the video captures the raw essence of the song's
message which is sure to resonate with fans of Rufus Wainwright,
Tori Amos, and Adele.
The
video for "Ordinary" was produced by Garrett Poortinga at Green
Hat Photography and shot in Bloomington, IN. As Matt is
seen playing the piano, his thoughts are expressed in the movie
images displayed on the wall behind him. The letters Matt
is seen reading throughout the clip
are actual correspondence from his best friend Krista, who lives
in France, and which he hasn't read in 20 years. This led to Matt
expressing some very real emotions during the video shoot. In
talking about the experience of making his first music
video, Matt said, "It was a great learning
experience. I like playing a 'role' because I don't have to be
my everyday self, but I can be 'Matt Gold'!"
