3-year sentence for gay text message upheld by Cameroon court

Jean-Claude Roger Mbede may be forced to return to prison in Cameroon, as a court recently upheld a three-year sentence he received for sending a text message to another man that read, "I'm very much in love with you." Cameroon prosecutes suspected gays at a higher rate than do other African nations that penalize homosexual conduct, according to Human Rights Watch.
