One Colorado Says It's Time to pass Civil Unions

From Brad Clark, Executive Director, One Colorado:

Yesterday under the leadership of Senators Pat Steadman and Lucia Guzman, civil unions legislation passed its final reading in the Senate with bipartisan support.

Now we head back to a chamber we know all too well: House Judiciary Committee. And this year, it's time to get the job done.

Help us send a message to the Colorado House: now is the time to pass civil unions. Click here to send an email now to the members on the Judiciary Committee.

Without a doubt -- there is incredible momentum to pass civil unions. With bi-partisan support from the Colorado legislature and Governor Hickenlooper, along with a coalition of over one million Coloradans across the state, now is the time to pass civil unions.

Over the past two years -- you have made this possible. Hundreds of in-person meetings with legislators, thousands of phone calls into the Capitol, tens of thousands of postcards and e-mails to key legislators.

But our work isn't done yet. We need your help to put civil unions over the finish line!

Who can forget what happened last year? This time, we cannot take anything for granted. We must finish the job. The stakes are too high, the opportunities too important, the protections too critical.

Click here to help finish the job and contact the House Judiciary Committee.

I know this is a personal fight for so many of us -- so thank you for being willing to give everything you can to help us push forward over the next few days.
