In
partnership with 9News and Bank of the West, the “Top 9” is a statewide
video and photo award contest looking back at the greatest Colorado
sports moments of 2012.
Videos
and photos were submitted and will now be voted on by the public. The
event culminates with a red carpet awards ceremony that reveals the
winners and celebrates all levels of Colorado sports. The award ceremony
is Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the
Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $15 and available at Top9Moments.com.
“The
great thing about Top 9 is that every person, every team, and every
player has a memorable sports moment. Some are well known, but others
are seldom seen,” said Jean Galloway, Local Organizing Chair of Denver
Sports Top 9 Moments, “We want to relive and honor such remarkable
moments such as we saw in the inaugural year with Missy Franklin’s 1st
world record, seven year-old Asher Cohen’s winning ring routine and Matt
Prater’s two 50-yard game winning field goals,” Galloway said.
The public is asked to go to Top9Moments.com to review the finalists and vote for a winner, which will be announced at the awards ceremony. See the finalists after the jump.
