Olympic officials: Athletes forbidden from challenging Russian laws

The International Olympic Committee reaffirmed this Wednesday its intention to forbid athletes competing in the 2014 Winter Olympics from publicly criticizing Russia's law against LGBT "propaganda."

IOC officials cited a section of the Olympic Charter banning athletes from wearing or holding any nonsponsor logos or paraphernalia during the games as justification for the policy. Athletes who violate the charter risk disqualification and forfeiture of medals.
