Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado is educating voters on the recall elections

Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado (PPVC) is educating voters on the 2013 recall elections via direct mail to over 27,000 voters in Senate Districts 11 and 3. Senate President John Morse and Senator Angela Giron are being targeted in unprecedented recall efforts by a small majority of out-of-touch voters in their districts because the Senators voted for common sense gun safety laws. However, the impacts of these recalls are extremely important for women’s health issues because the candidates opposing them (Bernie Herpin and George Rivera) are both lifelong anti-choice, anti-women’s health advocates. PPVC encourages you to get out and vote to keep Senate President John Morse and Senator Angela Giron, both long term supporters of pro-choice and pro-women’s health policies, in office.

Statement from Cathy Alderman, PPVC Vice President Public Affairs:

“Senate President John Morse and Senator Angela Giron, both pro-choice champions, will now have to fight for the office that they were voted into. These unprecedented attacks on fierce advocates of women’s health are unacceptable.”

“The recall process is in place to remove legislators whom are corrupt or have done illegal things in office; not so that we can force elections every time an extremist group disagrees with a vote.”

“Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado is working hard to preserve the integrity of our elections. With support from our committed voters, we can send the message that Coloradoans do not support the undermining of our political process or our pro-choice majority.”
