The Los Angeles Dodgers announced last week that the team
will hold its first LGBT night on Sept. 27.
LGBT Night Out will feature a
celebrity first pitch, a performance of the national anthem by a member
of the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles and a fireworks show after the
game against our own Colorado Rockies.
"We welcome all fans to Dodger
Stadium throughout each season," Dodgers executive Lon Rosen said in a
statement. "We are especially proud to welcome and recognize the LGBT
community of Los Angeles, an integral part of the city and of the
Dodgers community." Several other MLB teams hold similar events.
