In a first, same-sex couple marries during Rose Parade

Aubrey Loots and Danny Leclair made history in Wednesday's Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif., by marrying atop a wedding-cake float, marking the first time in the parade's 125-year history that a same-sex couple has exchanged vows. The parade, which hosted its first opposite-sex wedding in the 1890s, precedes the Rose Bowl college football game and is televised in more than 170 countries.

"Having my relationship recognized legally is already a dream come true," Leclair said. "To be able to declare my love to the world at large in hopes of inspiring others to live proudly and authentically is an enormous honor."
