2014 Scholarship Applications Now Available From The Alexander Foundation

Scholarships awarded from The Alexander Foundation provide financial assistance to those seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree of higher education from an accredited institution in the State of Colorado. Selection for awards are based on merit, need, and service to the LGBT* community. Annual scholarship award amounts range from $300 to $3,000.

The recipient must be LGBT, a Colorado resident (photocopy of State or Federally issued ID required), and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be attending an accredited institution of higher education within the State of Colorado. Applicants may apply as often as they wish, however, recipients are limited to a cumulative maximum award limit of $9,000.


Submissions for consideration should consist of a fully completed application form, a personal essay of 500 words or less describing the applicants future goals and need for scholarship, and two letters of recommendation (must be original and signed, including at least one academic reference on school letterhead/stationery from one of your instructors). The scholarship applicant’s contact information will be shared within the Foundation and applicants may be contacted about foundation activities. Contact information will not be shared externally.


All application materials are postmarked on or before Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
