Gay man sues doctor for diagnosis of "homosexual behavior" as a "chronic condition"

Matthew Moore, a 46-year-old man from Los Angeles, is suing the Torrance Health Association and his doctor Elaine Jones (pictured) for listing "homosexual behavior" on his medical record as a "chronic condition," a diagnosis which was discredited by the American Psychiatric Association in 1973.

"My jaw was on the floor. At first, I kind of laughed, I thought, 'Here's another way that gay people are lessened and made to feel less-than,' and then as I thought about it and as I dealt with it, it angered me," Moore said.
