6 states to gain federal marriage recognition, Holder says

Attorney General Eric Holder on Saturday announced that the federal government will recognize same-sex marriages in six states where bans on marriage equality were recently struck down. 

Same-sex couples in Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, North Carolina, West Virginia and Wyoming will now be extended federal benefits.
