Congress to consider Social Security benefits for same-sex couples

A bill aimed at ensuring all married same-sex couples in the U.S. are eligible for Social Security spousal benefits was introduced by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.)in both chambers of Congress on Tuesday. Same-sex spouses now must live in a state that recognizes their marriage in order to receive benefits.
