Obama supports LGBT couples looking to adopt

Potential caregivers looking to serve as adoptive parents should not face discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, among other characteristics, President Barack Obama said last week while announcing National Foster Care Month. 

"We're thrilled that President Obama has recognized explicitly that LGBTQ youth in foster care, like all youth, deserve safe, loving, permanent homes if they can't safely return home," said Currey Cook of Lambda Legal.
