Corpse Flower to Bloom at Denver Botanic Gardens

A corpse flower, Amorphophallus titanum, is going to bloom at the Denver Botanic Gardens and emit a very foul odor that resembles decaying flesh. The plant’s first bloom occurs after 8-20 years of vegetative growth. Sometimes, it takes as long as 7-10 years for a second bloom. This will be the first corpse flower bloom in the Gardens’ and Rocky Mountain Region's history!

The exact time and date cannot be determined, but the bloom opening is expected around Sunday, August 16.
