Pokemon GOes to the Denver County Fair! Catch 'em all weekend!

The Denver County Fair will be hosting a Poké-Hunt all weekend during the fair with Pokémon Go Lure Parties each day.

By now, you've probably heard of the augmented-reality mobile game "Pokémon Go," in which players move throughout the real world to hunt for and capture digital Pokémon. This cultural phenomenon is coming to the 6th Annual Denver County Fair! "We're changing up the County Fair model as usual," says the fairs Creative Director Tracy Weil. "We're the only county fair with a Geek Pavilion so it seemed fitting to host a live Poké-Hunt all weekend."

Denver County Fair organizers will set over 200 Pokémon "Lures" over the weekend starting on Friday, July 29th at 4pm near the National Western PokéStop. Once activated, "Lure" modules will attract wild Pokémon to that location. Prized characters we hope to attract are Mewtwo and Mew, some of the rarest as well as Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Visitors can download and create a Pokémon Go" account for free from the Google Play or App stores. The Poké-Hunt is free to all visitors to the Denver County Fair!

"We'll also be organizing a "Pokémon Go' Lure Party" on Friday evening at 6pm as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoons," said Weil. The fair will be setting multiple lures for the party and visitors can meet up in the Geek Pavilion after to exchange tips and stories of which Pokémon characters they've captured. Pokémon Tournaments will also be held in the near by Pokémon Gym.

The Denver County Fair will also be doing a social media promotion on Facebook with the game. If users post their photo of the Pokémon they caught at the fair on the Denver County Fair Facebook page they will be entered into a contest for a chance to win one of (5) Family of Four passes for the 2017 Denver County Fair!
