Flobots to Perform Free Show at Denver’s Civic Center Park

Denver, Colorado’s progressive hip-hop band Flobots perform a free show at Denver Civic Park on Friday, August 12 at 6pm-9pm.

Flobots’ dual MCs Jonny 5 and Brer Rabbit and drummer Kenny Ortiz have been hard at work in the studio recording material for their new album, NO ENEMIES, to be released during the first part of 2017. Known for their explosive musical expression with their signature politically and socially conscious slant, Flobots have had no lack of real-life inspiration during their current writing/recording process. “The world right now can feel frightening. But in this moment also comes great potential for change. Even the way we perceive our surroundings is changing profoundly. All of this has been very much on our minds as we have been making this album. We feel it is more important than ever that we all speak our truth.”

And while the band is indeed in between album releases, no one expects the Flobots to be quiet during this important election cycle. The band continues to bring their uplifting and empowering musical performances to select live stages this fall, most recently at the July 23rd Denver installment of Rock Against the TPP - a multi-city concert tour opposing the Trans-Pacific Partnership hosted by Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and actress Evangeline Lilly.
