Andreja Pejić Lands GQ Portugal April Cover And Continues To Make History

Andreja Pejic has landed a double cover of GQ Portugal April issue, making history as the first transgender model to cover the magazine. Andreja was also the first transgender model to be awarded 'Female Model Of The Year' at the GQ Portugal Awards last October in Lisbon. The April issue hits stands tomorrow.

Shot by famed photographer Branislav Simoncik, the shoot took place in Lisbon, Portugal. The double cover and eight page spread along with the in-depth interview with Andreja, is a big milestone for Andreja and also the LGBTQ community, continuing to break barriers.

"To be honest, I never expected this moment. GQ is such a classic and respected men's magazine and, while I am very proud of everything I've achieved, my modelling career has been everything but classic. So, in a way, this is a meeting of two different worlds and it represents progress," said Andreja.

For years, Andreja Pejić has been gracing the covers of top fashion and entertainment publications, including the cover of OUT Magazine where they named her one of the 100 most compelling people. New York Magazine featured Pejić on the cover as "The Prettiest Boy in the World," making her the most talked about androgynous model to date. Before her sex reassignment surgery, Pejić was the first "male model" to ever grace the cover of an Elle magazine title, and she has since landed the cover of Marie Claire Spain post-surgery. Pejić was also the first transgender model to be featured by Vogue America and the first to land a coveted cosmetic campaign, as the ambassador for Make Up For Ever.
