San Francisco Dungeons Extends Search for "America's Most Ghosted"

Boo! U there? Been ghosted? The San Francisco Dungeon is looking to turn your busted, broken, budding-romantic text exchanges into national glory with its search to crown “America’s Most Ghosted.”

Ever found yourself on a movie date eating popcorn for two? Or waiting at a restaurant, well, forever? Telling your friends “maybe they lost their phone?” Fear not, and for hell’s sake, put down your phone. The San Francisco Dungeon, a live show experience dedicated to the Bay Area’s most dark and sordid history, has you covered.

The attraction calls all rejected Romeos to post screen shots of your final text exchanges with that special someone who had—for a few blissful days, weeks or months, anyway—seemed really, really into you.

You still there? To help you (finally) get over it, the ultimate “ghostee” will also turn their rejection into a vacation to San Francisco including a free flight, accommodation for one at nearby Hotel Zoe (we know you’re still single) and a ticket to the Dungeon so you can eat, pray, love yo’self. Swipe right for solo vacations!

“With digital dating more popular than ever, we decided to shed light on the dark side of modern romance and celebrate being rejected for no known reason,” explained Dalia Goldgor, general manager, The San Francisco Dungeon. “We are known as the place to encounter San Francisco’s most infamous ghosts, but with this offer, we hope to sooth hurting hearts and App-induced thumb-wounds by recognizing and rewarding America’s Most Ghosted.”

Ghosting has become infamous as the 21st-century dating phenomenon whereby a once hot-and-heavy love interest suddenly stops returning texts, never to be heard from again.

To enter, post a screen shot of your final text exchange with the guilty ghost on Instagram or Twitter @thesfdungeon using the unique hashtag #AmericasMostGhosted. Also, be sure to tell us (in 10 words or fewer) anything you want to say about the situation (e.g., why it was devastating, background info, why we should care, etc.). Then, publish your post and bask in the single life!

All contestants must follow @thesfdungeon on the platform of submission (either Twitter or Instagram) to ensure The San Francisco Dungeon can view and share submissions. ALL images/ submissions entered can be made public. Entries will be accepted through Monday, April 15, at 5 p.m. PST. The winner will be announced on, Wednesday, April 17, by 12 p.m. PST. Full entry instructions and all terms and conditions may be viewed here.
