The Alexander Foundation Invites You to Queer Prom 2022

The Alexander Foundation (TAF) annual Spring Fling is back again with Queer Prom 2022 for LGBTQ+ Coloradans. Denver Turnverein Dance Center will host this year's event where we will bring to you an open bar, dancing, appetizers, and a silent auction.

Come as you are, wear what you want, express yourself freely, bring three or no dates, and have fun being yourself. Discrimination will not be tolerated. This will be a safe place for all gender identities and sexual orientations.

At this year's annual Spring fundraiser, TAF is proud to host and honor Representative Brianna Titone for her work serving the constituents of HD27 and raising visibility of the LGBTQ+ community. Brianna is the State's first out, transgender lawmaker in history and currently one of eight in the country.

Representative Titone has backed numerous bills to further affirm LGBTQ+ Coloradans and raise awareness for this marginalized community. Most recently, she supported a request to include Gender Affirming Care as an essential health benefit, which passed in October 2021 and will go into effect January 2023 under the Essential Health Benefit Benchmark Plan.

"Here we are being the first state to offer all the necessary care to trans people, which is very high contrast with what's going on across the country where they're trying to take away rights for trans people," said Titone. "Whether it's preventing kids from playing sports or denying health care coverage to trans and LGBT people, Colorado is doing the opposite of that and actually stepping up to provide for the people who live here."
