This holiday season the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus will present Haul Out the Jolly, a kaleidoscopic repertoire from JS Bach’s Jauchzet, frolocket and Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” (featuring the Grand Organ) to pop selections like “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy” (popularized by David Bowie and Bing Crosby), and “The Chanukah Song (We Are Lights),” by Stephen Schwartz.
There will be sparkling new carol arrangements with a gospel version of “Go Tell It on the Mountain, new lyrics to Broadway selections: “Big Santa” (aka “Big Spender,” from the musical Sweet Charity) and, of course, the holiday camp audiences have come to love and adore.
