As the top legal officials in their states, they play an essential role in ensuring that citizens’ rights are not trampled and that civil rights protections are enforced on an equitable basis.”

Additionally, votes are still being counted in Arizona where Kris Mayes, HRC-endorsed candidate for attorney general, is in a close race.
