Ben, living with his boyfriend Raz in their idyllic apartment, feels that the only missing piece in their lives is a child. Determined to make their dream of parenthood a reality, the couple sets out on their journey. Simultaneously, Ben takes it upon himself to improve their neighborhood by planting a new tree on their street—an act of goodwill aimed at making a positive impact.
However, Ben's seemingly innocent act sets off a chain of events that leads to the brutal arrest of an Eritrean immigrant by the police. Consumed by guilt, Ben finds himself on a guilt trip that shatters his self-perception and challenges his entire worldview. As his relationship with Raz hangs in the balance, and his aspirations of fatherhood are threatened, Ben is confronted with the insidious ways in which privilege can fuel prejudice.
