The Arvada Center announces auditions for the musical Saturday Night Fever

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will hold auditions for Saturday Night Fever at the Arvada Center on June 9 and 10. Denver Callbacks are scheduled for June 15. The Arvada Center production will be directed by Arvada Center Artistic Producer Rod A. Lansberry with musical direction by David Nehls and choreography by Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck.

Arvada Center Holding Auditions for A Man Of No Importance

The Arvada Center will hold auditions for the musical, A Man of No Importance on February 9 and 10, 2015. Callbacks are scheduled for February 19. The Arvada Center announces auditions for the play 'The Archbishop’s Ceiling'

The Arvada Center will hold auditions for the play, The Archbishop’s Ceiling written by Arthur Miller at the Arvada Center on January 7 and 8, 2015. Callbacks are scheduled for January 9, 2015. The Arvada Center production will be directed by Brett Aune. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer is Rod A. Lansberry.

Experienced actors with strong acting abilities are needed. See the character breakdown after the jump for specifics on available roles. Actors should prepare one minute monologue of the style and period of the piece. A current headshot and résumé are required. Audio and video submissions will not be considered. Equity members must have a current equity ID card. This is an Equity LORT D production, non-equity actors will be considered. Individuals of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds are needed and encouraged to audition for all roles.

Casting Call: Charlotte's Web at The Arvada Center

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will hold auditions for Charlotte’s Web on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd,, Arvada 80003. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, November 12. Charlotte’s Web will be directed by Edith Weiss. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer is Rod A. Lansberry.

Auditions are by appointment only, call 720-898-7200 to schedule a time. Do not contact the production staff to schedule an appointment. Must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for a part.

Requirements:
Needed are experienced actors with strong acting and character skills. Individuals of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Roles are non-equity, paid positions. Actors should prepare a 1-1/2 minute comedic monologue. A current résumé and headshot are required.

Production Details:
Rehearsals for Charlotte’s Web will start the week of January 19, 2015, weekdays from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The production opens on Thursday, February 12, running through April 10, 2015. Performances are Monday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. and noon, and various Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Click here for a complete schedule.

Charlotte’s Web - Character Breakdown:
Many roles play multiple parts, animal and human. Actors must be 18 years of age or older to audition. This includes the roles of Fern and Avery.

WILBUR: A sweet innocent pig, emotional.

TEMPLETON: A rat, sometimes grouchy, always hungry.

CHARLOTTE: A spider, warm, wise, and kind.

FERN: To play a young girl of decided opinions, hardworking, loves Wilbur more than anything.

NARRATOR: A down-home type, easygoing.

HOMER: Fern's uncle, a simple, hardworking, cheerful farmer.

SHEEP: A practical animal, enjoys being the bearer of bad news.

LURVY: Farmhand, excitable.

GOOSE: A bit of a fussbudget, keeps the barnyard organized.

GANDER: A bit pompous, very proud of himself.

AVERY: Fern's brother. To play a high spirited young boy.

ARABLE: Fern's father. Gruff and no nonsense at first, but Fern can always soften him up.

Call For Actors & Directors: Denver Element and Theatre Out Team Up For Production of 'The Only Thing Worse You Could Have Told Me'

Theatre Out Denver and The Denver Element have announced they they will be producing 'The Only Thing Worse You Could Have Told Me' at Crossroads Theatre from May 8-17. 

The show is a series of 14 monologues and 10 characters and will be produced as a community building experience to help fulfill the mission statement of The Denver Element with participation available for several actors/directors. Producers will be looking for a number of actors and directors for the production. Auditions Announcement: Verge Theater Comedy Revue

Verge Theater's third annual comedy revue is looking for talented performers to audition for a couple spots in their cast. The audition is improv based and you will be working in groups of four and five during the process. 
 
Please bring a resume of acting experience and a headshot if you have one. The audition will run a little over an hour and take place at Verge Theater, 2304 N. 7th in Denver on December 6 at 7pm.

Opera Colorado 2014 Chorus Auditions

On Saturday, November 2, 2013, Opera Colorado will host chorus auditions for its 2014 Season productions of Verdi’s Rigoletto and Bizet’s Carmen from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Denver Musician’s Union, located at 1165 Delaware Street, Denver, CO 80204. 
 
Preference will be given to tenors, baritones and basses. Singers should prepare two selections from the art song, opera or musical theatre repertoire. Preferably, one selection should be in a foreign language.

Audition Notice: It's a Wonderful Life from Phamaly Theatre Company

Phamaly Theatre Company will hold auditions for its first holiday production of It’s a Wonderful Life, adapted by Doug Rand from the screenplay by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra, and Jo Swerling; and directed by Steve Wilson and Bryce Alexander. Preliminary auditions will be held on Monday, September 9th from 6pm – 9pm by appointment only (call or go on-line to schedule a time). There will also be a callback audition on Monday, September 16th from 6pm – 9pm. Both audition events will be held in the Robert and Judi Newman Center for Theatre Education (also known as the “Tramway Building”) at 1101 13th Street, Denver, adjacent to the Denver Performing Arts Complex. If actors cannot make either audition, it may be possible to arrange for a private audition time – call for more information. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday evenings, and Saturday afternoons beginning October 12th. The show will be presented at the Aurora Fox Arts Center December 5th, 2013 – December 22nd, 2013.

Needed are 25 physically, intellectually, cognitively, or psychiatrically challenged men and women age range 6-65. Actors may be asked to provide doctor’s verification of disability. A complete character breakdown and show synopsis is included on page 2. Actors need to prepare one comedic or dramatic monologue up to one minute in length. Selections from movies, television shows, or any adaptation of It’s a Wonderful Life are strongly discouraged. Theatrical Resume and headshots are requested. All roles currently available. The Arvada Center announces auditions for the musical, Camelot

The Arvada Center will hold auditions for the musical, Camelot at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd., June 6 and 7 (Chorus Dance Call on June 11) and in New York City, June 12, 13 and 17. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer, Rod A. Lansberry will direct Camelot with musical direction by David Nehls and choreography by Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck.

Colorado auditions are June 6 and 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Women’s Chorus Dance call 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Men’s Chorus Dance call 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. will be held on June 11 by appointment only. Call the Arvada Center Box Office at 720-898-7200 to schedule an appointment time. With the exception of one child’s role, actors must be 18 years & older to audition. The role of one boy (Tom of Warwick) age range 8-12 years old will be auditioned in Denver on Tuesday, June 11, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Auditions for Tina Howe's 'Chasing Manet'

Senior Housing Options (SHO) is auditioning for the regional premiere of “Chasing Manet” by Tina Howe, directed by Terry Dodd.  The production continues SHO's highly successful tradition of using professional summer theatre (“Hot L Baltimore” and “Picasso at the Lapin Agile”) in order to raise funds for low-income senior and disabled housing and services.  “Chasing Manet” runs July 7th through August 13th; Thursday- Saturday evenings at the historic Barth Hotel in LoDo.  Daytime rehearsals begin in late May.
Actors needed:
1) Actress - in the range of 50+ years of age
1) Actress - In the range of 40 - 50 years of age

1) Actor - in the range of 50 - 65 years of age
1) Actor - in the range of 35 - 50 years if age

Auditions will be held Thursday, April 14th from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Olin Hotel, 1420 Logan Street.  Callbacks will be Friday, April 15th at the same time and place.  Please bring two pieces, one minute each, one comedic and the other dramatic.

Denver Gay Men's Chorus auditions

The Denver Gay Men’s Chorus (DGMC) will hold auditions for new members during the week of September 12, as well as returning members who have been gone for more than two consecutive concerts.

Auditionees will be invited to “Audition Us” for the first half of our September 12 Rehearsal; you must have contacted DGMC prior to the September 12 Rehearsal.

Auditions usually consist of your singing something familiar, like “America” (AKA “God Save the Queen”) or “You Are My Sunshine” (AKA “Sie sind mein Sonnenschein”), checking your vocal range, and testing your note-matching abilities.

The Chorus regularly rehearses Sunday evenings at Christ Church United Methodist at 690 Colorado Boulevard (Colorado Boulevard and Seventh Avenue) from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Auditions: Rocky Mountain Ringers


Rocky Mountain Ringers, an ensemble of advanced handbell ringers, will hold auditions for its fall concert season at St. Paul Lutheran Church (at the corner of 16th Avenue and Grant Street in Downtown Denver) June 28, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
People seeking to join the Rocky Mountain Ringers should have at least a year of instrumental training or experience and be able to read both treble and bass clefs. Just fill out the RMR Audition form at http://www.rockymountainringers.org/?q=AuditionApp prior to the June 28 auditions.
Rocky Mountain Ringers rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, starting the first week in August running through the third week of December.

The Ringers were founded in 1996 and are currently under the direction of Jeffrey Harms. Rocky Mountain Ringers perform an advanced selection of adaptations for handbells from composers such as Cole Porter, Hoagie Carmichael, Beach Boys, and original works for handbells by Kevin McChesney, Arnold Sherman, and Cathy Moklebust, among others.

“We rehearse, we play, we make incredible music! Be ready for a workout!,” said RMR Artistic Director Jeffrey Harms.
