OUT on DVD/VOD: The Surface

Aimes Media and Ariztical Entertainment have announced the December 15th DVD and VOD release of Michael J. Saul's The Surface.The Surface tells the story of Evan Jones, an orphan who was shifted from one foster home to another for years. Now a disaffected college student, he lives with his wealthy boyfriend, Chris. Their social and financial differences have made their relationship increasingly volatile despite their love for one another.

While sifting through relics at an elderly man's yard sale, Evan finds an 8mm movie camera. The man offers to teach Evan how to use it if he comes back the following week. Upon returning, Evan meets the man's 43-year-old son, Peter. Peter gives him reels of old 8mm movies that are collecting dust in the garage. The home movies, featuring a young Peter and his boyhood friend touch a nerve with Evan. Their youthful flirtations and tenderness are uncomplicated and pure. Evan begins to live vicariously through the home movies and his friendship with Peter soon turns romantic. Evan's relationship with Chris splinters as he pushes for greater understanding of himself and the notions of family, love and fulfillment.

Mark (Karner) is a struggling and disillusioned actor living in Los Angeles with his boyfriend Jonah (Denver Milord). As life begins to knock them down, Mark starts to realize he is no longer in love. When he attempts to reignite their intimacy through sex, drugs, and therapy, Mark must look at himself with unprecedented courage and honesty. Can love heal their broken relationship? Or will Mark need to heal himself before he's ready to love? 

Like You Mean It premiered at the 2015 OutFest where critics called the film "outstanding" (GreginHollywood.com) and "engaging and highly intimate" (Queertiques). The film went on to play other festivals including Cinema Diverse, Reeling Film Festival, and Reel Affirmations. Like You Mean It will be available on VOD/DVD on December 8.

Breaking Glass Pictures is releasing the LGBT romance LIKE YOU MEAN IT in Los Angeles (Arena Cinema) on November 27, 2015, followed by a VOD/DVD release on December 8, 2015. Written and directed by the film's lead Philipp Karner, LIKE YOU MEAN IT is an intimate, semi-autobiographical and "well-acted" (Hollywood Reporter) film about two men determined to fall back in love.

OUT on VOD: Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List

Based on the novel by the authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Victoria Justice and Pierson Fodé star in the coming of age story, Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List, available exclusively on iTunes September 18 and additional digital platforms on October 2.  

Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List made its world premiere debut at Outfest Festival on July 17 in Los Angeles. The movie follows Naomi and Ely, two lifelong best friends who have been in love with each other their whole lives, even though Ely isn’t exactly into girls. The institution of a "No Kiss List" has prevented the two from rifts in the past, but their bond is tested when they both fall for the same guy. Now, the once inseparable pair must determine if their friendship can survive the complicated rollercoaster of emotions that are inevitable with adolescence.

Set amidst the remote and rugged oceanside of Southern Brazil, Seashore is an exploration of friendship, sexuality and personal identity for two teenage boys, with an erotic subtext that culminates in tender and mysterious ways.

Two Brazilian high school students, Martin (Mateus Almada) and Tomaz (Mauricio Barcellos) reconnect in a windswept coastal town where Martin's grandfather recently passed away. Despite group outings and flirtations from local teenage girls, Martin and Tomaz gradually realize that their true interest lies in each other. In an abandoned seaside house, secrets are shared, old family wounds are re-opened, and together they grapple with the meanings of friendship and love, and sexual tension in a suddenly adult world.

Love in the Time of Civil War stars Alexandre Landry in "A fully committed and vanity-free performance" (Hollywood Reporter) as Alex, a young, gay addict who sells his body in Montréal's Centre-Sud district. Along with Bruno, Simon, Jeanne, Eric and Velma, he is caught in a spiral of compulsion shuffling from one apartment to the next, where desire becomes a life raft between fixes.

Starting September 1, the film will be available on DVD and the following VOD platforms: iTunes, Amazon Instant, Google Play, Xbox, Vudu, and cable VOD.

OUT on DVD/VOD: Tiger Orange

Two estranged gay brothers attempt to make amends in Wade Gasque's charming small-town drama. Set against the sun-kissed fields of Central California, and anchored by strong performances from adult film star-turned-leading man Frankie Valenti (aka Johnny Hazzard) and Mark Strano, Tiger Orange pits two diametric opposites against each other – the closeted introvert versus the out-and-proud hunk. The result is a blunt, playful meditation on queer sibling rivalry and the childhood bonds that force us together.

Tiger Orange is the feature film debut of award winning director Wade Gasque, who co-wrote the film (and produced it) with the film's co-star Mark Strano. Wade and Mark are long-term partners creatively and personally.

Breaking Glass Pictures is releasing the LGBT drama WASP on DVD and VOD August 4, 2015. Starring Simon Haycock, Elly Condron, and Hugo Bolton, WASP radiates "strong central performances, interesting and original premise and stunning direction" (Entertainment Focus).

WASP is the story of two lovers, James and Oliver, who open up an old family house in Provence for the summer. When James' old friend Caroline unexpectedly joins them their relationship and sexuality are tested. WASP is director Philippe Audi-Dor's feature film debut and premiered at the 2015 Boston LGBT Film Festival.

Delving deep into both the controversial and glamorous life of the infamous aristocrat, director Luke Korem takes audiences on an historic journey in his directorial debut, Lord Montagu, available on VOD on Wednesday, June 17.

 As the youngest member in parliament and sole heir to his family's 7,000-acre English estate, Lord Edward Montagu's life was rich and privileged. However, in 1954, Edward Montagu, then aged 25, became England's most infamous aristocrat when he was arrested for homosexual offenses and became the focus of a landmark trial known as “The Montagu Case.” His guilty verdict sent off shock waves and became the catalyst to overturn a centuries old law, but Montagu’s once pristine reputation and career were all but ruined. After serving a year in prison, Montagu rose back into the spotlight when he boldly transformed his private estate and family home into a public tourist attraction. Breaking Glass Pictures will be releasing the family-friendly LGBT comedy Saugatuck Cures on DVD and VOD June 30, 2015. The comedy stars Max Adler ("Glee", "Switched at Birth"), Judith Chapman ("The Young and the Restless"), and Danny Mooney.

Saugatuck Cures follows a widowed bed and breakfast owner, Maggie Callaghan (Judith Chapman), living in Saugatuck, Michigan dealing with a second round of cancer. When she can't afford treatment, Maggie's gay son Drew (Max Adler) becomes determined to raise money for her treatment, yet doesn't have the slightest idea of how to do it. After a falling out with his affluent sister, Penelope, a religious conservative, Drew is convinced by his eccentric, best friend Brett (Danny Mooney), who is straight, to pose as ex-gay ministers in order to raise the money by "converting" homosexuals into heterosexuals! The two friends set forth on a crazy adventure, getting into a lot of trouble with the law, family conflicts and not knowing if they will have enough time to save mom.

OUT on DVD/VOD: Eat With Me

A charming comedy-drama about a mother and her gay son who heal, connect and grow together as the son's Chinese restaurant faces foreclosure, Eat With Me had its World Premiere at the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival and has since played at dozens of top LGBT film festivals.

As gay chef Elliot (Teddy Chen Culver) tries to find new love with handsome blue-eyed Brit Ian (Aidan Bristow), perhaps his newly-separated mother (Sharon Omi) will find her way towards acceptance of her son as well. Eat With Me also features a special appearance by George Takei.

OUT on DVD/VOD: All Yours (Je Suis a Toi)

Breaking Glass Pictures will release the French LGBT comedy All Yours (Je Suis a Toi) on DVD and VOD May 26, 2015. From the director of Beyond the Walls, David Lambert, All Yours stars Nahuel Perez Biscayart (Grand Central), Jean-Michel Balthazar (L'enfant, Le gamin au velo), and Monia Chokri (Xavier Dolan's Laurence Anyways).

Lucas is a penniless young Argentine male escort who is struggling to survive in Buenos Aires. After meeting a lonely Belgian baker online, Lucas agrees to become his apprentice. He soon finds himself caught in a love triangle with the baker and his female employee.

Breaking Glass will be releasing Folsom Forever on DVD and VOD June 9, 2015. Folsom Forever is the story of how a kinky rebellious street festival captured the heart of San Francisco. This new documentary by Mike Skiff (Kink Crusaders) bares the social, political, charitable and cultural implications of the world's most notorious bacchanal.

In 1984, a scrappy little neighborhood in San Francisco - home to many low-income tenants and the heart of the gay male leather scene - faced destruction from the bulldozers of redevelopment and the AIDS crisis. The Folsom Street Fair was started to call attention to gentrification and raise money for AIDS charities. Folsom Forever tells the story of how this small street fair grew into the biggest outdoor kink and fetish event in the world, and managed to do a lot of good along the way.

OUT on DVD/VOD: First Period

Falling Anvil Productions and Screen Media have announced that LGBT festival hit First Period is now available on digital platforms, and coming to DVD April 21st.  A drag comedy with the mind of John Hughes and the heart of John Waters, First Period has been acclaimed by critics and audiences since its premiere on the festival circuit.  

Charlie Vaughn's First Period stars Brandon Alexander III and Dudley Beene as a pair of hapless teenage girls who just want to be popular.  The supporting cast includes Cassandra Peterson (Elvira: Mistress of the Dark), Jack Plotnick (Space Station 76), Rebekah Kochan (The Eating Out series), Michael Turchin ("Lance Loves Michael"), Judy Tenuta (Going Down in La-La Land) and Diane Salinger ("Salem").
