Good Chemistry – Denver’s Gay-Friendly Dispensary

Good Chemistry, Denver’s gay-friendly dispensary, is guided by four core principles:

SCIENCE – Good Chemistry believes that Cannabis has significant therapeutic benefits and work to support and expand its study.

ACCESS - Good Chemistry believes that many barriers exist which fundamentally restrict access to safe reliable medical grade cannabis and search for meaningful ways to remove them.

DIGNITY - Good Chemistry believes in the fundamental and inalienable right of a person to choose their medical treatment. Recognizing that often patients who take cannabis are subjected to unfair treatment under the law, Good Chemistry is committed to defending and protecting the rights of their patients.

COMPASSION - Good Chemistry recognizes that medical cannabis is a potent and effective medicine for many patients who cannot afford it and is dedicated to providing for those in need.

Be A Part of History in Las Vegas on 12/13/14 and Say "I Do" for Free on The High Roller

The High Roller and The LINQ Promenade are set to be home to hundreds of “in-motion” weddings and non-stop celebrations on the auspicious date of 12/13/14 – the last sequential wedding date of this century. Declare your never-ending adoration with a picture-perfect wedding above the Las Vegas Strip on the world’s largest observation wheel, the High Roller. To celebrate the lucky date, the High Roller will host free simultaneous in-cabin weddings on the impressive wheel for two hours and two minutes beginning at 10:11 a.m. and ending at 12:13 p.m. Be a part of history and among other couples saying “I Do” on this ceremonious occasion.

To be among the betrothed couples participating in the free weddings or vow renewals on the wheel, Caesars Entertainment is welcoming crazy-in-love couples on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wanting to wed must bring the required marriage license, state or government issued identification and of course their never-ending-love and a sense of adventure. Each of the lucky couples will not only receive the free wedding, but also a complimentary champagne toast and commemorative photo following their “I do.”

Although this truly extraordinary day of weddings begins at 10:11 a.m., interested couples may secure their place in history by arriving to line up as early as 8 a.m., complete with marriage license in hand. The first licensed-to-wed couples will begin boarding the 28 circular cabins of the High Roller at precisely 10:11 a.m. for two hours and two minutes for the morning of simultaneous round-the-wheel weddings. The free weddings on the wheel continue until the stroke of 12:13 p.m.

To make the day official for couples who want to either wed or renew their vows on the landmark date, a search is underway for ordained ministers in Las Vegas who want to participate in this historic event by officiating weddings inside the cabins of the High Roller. An open call will be held on Thursday, Nov 20 from 10am-2pm at The LINQ Fountains. To be considered, those interested must be certified and licensed as a wedding officiant in the state of Nevada and must be available between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 12/13/14. Dumb Friends League annual holiday fund & supply drive starts this week

While you’re making your holiday gift list, don’t forget about the furry, four-legged homeless friends in need of a little extra help this holiday season. The Dumb Friends League is holding its annual Paws to Give fund drive Nov. 17, 2014 – Jan. 4, 2015, to help the many homeless pets and horses in its care.

Each holiday season, patrons are invited to DDFL's three facilities—the Quebec Street Shelter in Denver, the Buddy Center in Castle Rock, and the Harmony Equine Center in Franktown—to fill out a "paw" decoration with a donation amount and a message, which then is displayed on the walls. Children and adults alike often write something in honor or memory of a special pet or horse. Donations of supplies are also welcome to help DDFL care for the animals, and a wish list can be found online at ddfl.org/supplies. This is a great time for patrons to visit the shelters with their families, view the animals in DDFL's care, and teach and share the spirit of giving.

“For those who aren’t able to adopt, it’s a great way to make a difference in the life of a homeless pet or horse in need,” said Bob Rohde, Dumb Friends League president and CEO. “Any amount you can give—whether it’s $10, $20, $30 or more—is very much appreciated and can make a big impact for the pets and people in our community.”

This year’s goal of $20,000 will help the Dumb Friends League care for thousands of homeless cats, dogs, small pets and horses. Donations can be made at online at ddfl.org/give or by mailing a check to Dumb Friends League Paws to Give, 2080 S. Quebec St., Denver, CO 80231.

OUT on DVD: Last Summer

Last Summer tells the story of two high school sweethearts, Luke and Jonah, who spend their final months together over the course of a long, quiet summer in the rural South, contemplating their uncertain future and the uncertain future of America.

Jonah, sensitive, quiet and artistic, prepares to leave his small town for college, leaving Luke behind, but all he wants is for Luke to ask him to stay. But Luke, an athlete struggling through summer school, knows that his boyfriend needs to experience the world beyond their home. Though he is somewhat aimless and unsure of his place in the world, he begins to find solace in an old camera that he finds in an antique store.

Last Summer positions their love story against a world of baseball fields, bicycles, church, and seemingly conservative values, though the boys never face adversity from their community; instead, they fit directly into the fabric of their all-American town.

Nice To See StevieB: Life

By StevieB

So... age old concern. My homework is cutting into my romantic life. At the end of next week I have an eight page paper due on whether the Irish monasteries of the twelfth century really did save the works of great ancient philosophers, or the Humanists across Europe were the saviors; as the monks would not understood the meaning behind the works.... I know. I just fell asleep as well. Aristotle; such a funny guy. During this time, I am acutely aware that there are guys to go kiss.

I am slowly coming to the conclusion that not only am I beginning my mid-life crisis, I am also attempting to re-live my early twenties. But, with a better credit score.

I find it strange and amusing that life has brought me to this place. A place of personal confidence, meaning finally feeling comfortable in my own skin, of being un-outcastable and truly strong in my personal beliefs, yet being in a social place of a twenty year old.

I like getting older. When you’re in your twenties you’re really forging for your future. Things take shape later on. -Crispin Glover

Jimmy Somerfille Is Back With 'Travesty'

The euphoric joy of disco has been one consistent thread, which has run through the diverse, illustrious thirty-year career of pop legend Jimmy Somerville.

Travesty”, written by Jimmy and produced by long-time producer John Winfield, is a taster of his forthcoming album Homage that as the title suggests, pays homage to the disco era. The emphasis throughout the recording of the new album has been on achieving the musical authenticity of the original disco era Jimmy grew up with and loves so much.

A proud Jimmy Somerville comments: “I've finally made the disco album I always wanted to and never thought could. If I was 15 again I'd buy it, sit on my bed, slowly open the gate-fold, slide out the vinyl, place it on the turntable then jump off the bed and imagine someone just passed me a tambourine…I'd be in heaven! The horns, the strings, the bass, the guitars, the drums, the backing vocals and the melody….the escape. So open your ears embrace the groove and pay homage to an all too easily derided sound ... I LOVE Disco!"

Study links LGBT inclusion policies, economic health

Countries with LGBT inclusion policies have stronger economies than countries that don't have such policies, according to a study by the Williams Institute that examined 39 countries.
