A Winner is Crowned on 'RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars!'

After a season filled with ferocious runway looks, buzzworthy choices and cutthroat competitors, Alaska has been crowned the winner of Logo’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” season 2. Sashaying away with the title of America's Next Drag Superstar and a $100,000 prize, Alaska beat nine of the nation’s fiercest all star queens.

“On every level Alaska raised the bar this season and earned her place in the Drag Race Hall of Fame,” said RuPaul. “To Detox, Katya and all my super talented All Star queens, I have nothing but gratitude for your brilliance in making this the most sickening season in Drag Race herstory.”

“I am honored, humbled, and grateful for the great responsibility which has been laid upon my dainty, tiny, diminutive shoulders,” said Alaska. “As your newly crowned queen of Earth, it is my first royal decree that flats are sexy and nails are optional. Let us be kind to one another and be slow to anger. Hold on to your dream; hold on to your dream- because if it can happen for me, it can happen for you. Anus-thing is possible.”

The much beloved season is not over yet. Emmy Award winning host RuPaul will be back in two weeks on Thursday, October 27 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on Logo when the All Star queens reunite to dish about the most shocking, glamorous, and twisted moments of the season. For a sneak peek of the reunion, head to logotv.com/video-clips/muhc0f.

Additionally, Mama Ru will turn up the heat this fall with “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Season 6 RuVealed,” premiering Thursday, November 3 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on Logo. The never-before-seen look into the unforgettable season is packed with fresh reads and behind-the-scenes gossip from Ru herself. For a sneak peek of “RuVealed” head to logotv.com/video-clips/jwr0je. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 9 will return this spring to Logo.

For the second time this year, AXE featured the winner of the drag race competition in an ad for their inclusive take on masculinity, ‘Find Your Magic.’ After tonight’s coronation, Alaska appeared in the spot that celebrates authenticity and self-expression. Just like “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” ‘Find Your Magic’ challenges outdated notions of manhood and sends a message that guys can be what they want, dress how they want, love who they want and live fiercely. Alaska’s ad can be seen at https://youtu.be/EHzcDNbywTE.

Six Victory Fund-Endorsed LGBT Candidates Upgraded to DLCC Essential Races

Today, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee in coordination with Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund announced six Victory Fund-endorsed candidacies were upgraded to DLCC 2016 Essential Races. The joint endorsement highlights the critical importance of these six races in key legislative chamber battlegrounds and in furthering equality everywhere.

“This cycle’s down-ballot Democratic recruits are unprecedented in their diversity and quality, and both DLCC and Victory Fund recognize LGBT candidates are critical to helping legislatures better reflect the diversity of the American electorate,” said DLCC Executive Director Jessica Post. “Democrats are primed for major wins in state legislative chambers across the country on Election Day, and the LGBT candidates running in our Essential Races are a crucial element of DLCC’s success.”

The six Victory Fund-endorsed candidates added to the DLCC 2106 Essential Races include: Jane Campbell, North Carolina House District 98; Tommy Greene, Ohio House District 16; Daniel Hernandez, Arizona House District 2; Stephen Skinner, West Virginia Senate District 16; Beth Tuura, Florida House District 47; and Jennifer Webb, Florida House District 69.

“We’re thrilled to work with the DLCC to support these outstanding LGBT leaders,” said Victory Fund President & CEO Aisha C. Moodie-Mills. “LGBT leaders make outstanding public officials because they’re deeply aware of the impact legislation and public policy have on the lives of real people. These six candidates will make outstanding additions to their legislative chambers and will play a critical role in furthering equality for all Americans.”

Essential Races account for a bare fraction of the competitive state legislative campaigns in 2016 – just 52 districts in total – and represent a relative handful of races deserving of broader attention.

The Feline Fix - Caring for Colorado's Community Cats

More than 20,000 cats are euthanized annually in Colorado simply because there are not enough homes for them all. Unfortunately, we can't simply adopt our way out of the problem.

An unaltered female cat, tame or feral, may become pregnant as early as five months of age and bear two to three litters per year for her entire life; which for a feral cat is roughly five years.

The purpose of Divine Feline and it's clinic, The Feline Fix, is to reduce the number of unwanted and homeless cats and to promote the health and welfare of all cats, feral and tame, through the practice of providing quality and affordable spay and neuter services and the practice of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return).

The Gay Vegans: Vote

By Dan Hanley

Nothing new from this blogger. An elections looms in the near future and I am taking to my blog to ask you to vote.

Regardless where you live in the US, there are important issues on the ballot. Whether you decide to vote for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump or another candidate for President, there are dozens of other candidates in other races whose outcomes will affect your life and our lives.

The US Senate could be taken by the Democrats. No difference you say? Perhaps. Yet with all things being equal and if there is no difference I would still prefer that the US Senate be controlled by Democrats.

Although there is no talk about the Democrats taking over the US House, imagine the craziness that would ensue if they did?

From university regents to local school boards and city contests, our votes can rock the world. A bit naive? Maybe. I truly believe that whatever your fight is, engaging with the candidates that will represent you in whatever forum will help your fight. I’ve experienced this myself.

Please vote, and vote all of the way down the ballot. If you are unfamiliar with candidates, check them out. Same with referendums.

I work daily for a safer, better world for all living beings. I work to support the voiceless and to by an ally or comrade to those fighting fights I agree with. Certainly there is a candidate in every race where my views match higher than the other, even if just a pinch.

OUT on DVD/VOD: Shared Rooms

A sexy, exuberant gay romantic comedy, SHARED ROOMS, will release November 15th on DVD / VOD via Wolfe Video.

This new romantic comedy brings together three interrelated tales of gay men seeking family, love and sex during the holiday season.

Married couple Laslo and Cal unexpectedly take in a gay teen relative who's been kicked out of his home; Sid and Gray have a casual online hookup which unexpectedly deepens; and roommates Julian and Dylan confront their secret mutual attraction when forced to share a bed for a week. At a New Year's Eve party, these stories come together in a heartwarming and joyous ending.

Accomplished filmmakers Rob Williams and his partner Rodney Johnson (makers of the gay holiday hit Make The Yuletide Gay) have created a crowd pleasing gay holiday comedy, starring a sexy ensemble cast, and set in the hip Los Angeles enclave of Silverlake. This is their eighth feature film.

Said Williams, "I believe in the power of film, and especially, the power of gay films. We can show people who don't get to be out and open in their daily lives that it's possible to find true love, that it's possible to find an accepting family, and that it's possible to be gay and be happy. I hope that in creating a world where men find love and family - even if it's just a movie - we can inspire people to look for the positive things in life and to welcome love in whatever form it comes."

OUT on DVD/VOD: Coming Out

Young filmmaker Alden Peters captures the coming out process in the current digital era with startling emotional clarity in the new documentary COMING OUT, out now on DVD / VOD from Wolfe Video.

The National LGBTQ Task Force celebrates National Coming Out Day

In celebration of National Coming Out Day, the National LGBTQ Task Force is issuing the following statement.

“Coming out, being you proudly and openly, is perhaps still the most significant action we can take as LGBTQ people and as an LGBTQ movement. Coming out has changed millions of hearts and minds — and has transformed labels, and letters, into real people — a son, a niece, a mom, a grandpa. In fact, it has made who we are — and the advancement of our freedom, justice and equality — personal for families across the nation. Today, we encourage everyone who has not yet come out, to come out if it is safe to do so. Your extended family is waiting to give you a huge hug,” said Rea Carey, Executive Director, National LGBTQ Task Force.
