Six California Destinations Celebrate Marriage Equality with Honeymoon Trips Contest

Six of California’s most romantic destinations have created a contest called “Match the Couples” where contestants try to guess which same sex couple was married in which place – San Francisco, Los Angeles, Greater Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Sonoma County or West Hollywood - for a chance to win one of five honeymoon trips.

The winning contestant, selected at random from all entrants, will fly to California with a guest for a six-night Grand Prize combining three nights and activities in Los Angeles, a trip north on Amtrak’s Coast Starlight train, followed by three nights and more fun in San Francisco.

Online competition begins for all-expense paid same-sex wedding

In honor of the passage of the DC Marriage Equality Act, a group of prominent Washington-area wedding vendors have teamed up to offer a same sex couple the wedding of a lifetime, valued at over $100,000. The first of its kind – Freedom2Wed – is an online wedding competition for same sex couples. The winning couple will have successfully demonstrated their commitment to marriage equality and furthering the national effort to achieve fundamental fairness and equality for all.

 

According to Michael Kress, owner of MBK Associates and a well-known Washington photographer who led the effort, “every couple has a great story to tell and this competition will remind people that this is still really just about the freedom to love who you choose.”

Jake, the self-proclaimed sex-addict, is starting to worry a little bit about his past catching up with him, namely in the form of HIV. And Andie, who drunkenly ends her sexual dry spell with a one-night stand, realizes that Jake might have less to worry about than she does. What starts out as Trevor's own personal existential journey, turns into a path that will lead everyone to what is most important: themselves.

Holding Trevor is continually poignant, relentlessly self-deprecating, and just the type of cerebral dark comedy that can speak directly to the twenty-somethings of today while letting other generations in on the joke.

Album remix competition

About a month ago, Paper Garden Records and Darla Farmer announced the launch of a full-album remix competition and opened it up to the public. Having now hit the halfway point of the competition, Darla Farmer is challenging its entrants to bring the heat!
