Denver third-grader organizes gay rights rally

Ethan, a third-grader at Montclair Elementary School in Denver, has organized a rally for LGBT equality to take place May 16 from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the west stairs of the Capitol Building. This precocious young student told The Center's Legal Director, Mindy Barton, that he wanted to put on a rally because he felt bad for his neighborhood friend who was picked on because he has two mommies.

He said adults don't understand that these issues affect kids, too. Ethan has been closely following the recent successes in relationship recognition throughout the country and thinks it is time for full marriage equality everywhere. The rally already has the backing of many LGBT groups around town, and the speaker line up will be released shortly. - via CQSA
