Things to do in Denver when you're gay: Movies in the Park

Maybe drive-in movies are a thing of the past but at least you can still watch films for free at an outdoor venue. The Denver Parks and Recreation Department hosts Movies in the Park using 24-feet-wide inflatable screens and high-tech sound systems. Free popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy are available at each showing. Other concessions are available for purchase. Films start at sunset and you are encouraged to bring blankets or low-seating lawn chairs.

The schedule: June 26: Sloans Lake, 'The Twilight Saga - New Moon'; July 3: Skyline Park, 'Field of Dreams'; July 16: Cheesman Park, 'Where The Wild Things Are'; July 17: Skyline Park, 'Kung Fu Panda'; July 23: Crestmoor Park, 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs'; July 30: Village Place Park, 'Monsters vs. Aliens'; July 31: Skyline Park: 'Madagascar'; Aug. 14: Skyline Park, 'Hook'; Aug. 21: Skyline Park, 'The Wizard of Oz'.
