This Shining Night: Denver Gay Men's Choir's Holiday Concert December

Denver Gay Men’s Chorus’s Holiday Concert, “This Shining Night,” will take place Friday, December 17, 2010 and Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at L2 Arts and Culture Center (1477 Columbine Street at Colfax Avenue) in Denver, and Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church (3350 E. White Bay Drive) in Highlands Ranch.

Among the highlights of DGMC’s Holiday Concert will be Morten Lauridsen’s moving setting of James Agee’s poem, “Sure on This Shining Night,” Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s “Ring Out, Wild Bells,” and a spirited version of the Yiddish children’s song, “Bidi Bom.”

The second half includes secular selections: “Santa Got a Tummy Tuck,” Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters' classic “Mele Kalikimaka," and a memorable medley, “Christmas on Broadway.”

The Denver Women’s Chorus small ensemble, “Take Note!,” under the direction of Joy Jenkins, will be special guests at the Holiday Concert; DGMC’s small ensemble, “Sing Out, Louise!,” will also perform selections.
