Win free tickets to Opera Colorado's presentation of Florencia en el Amazonas

Who wants to win two free tickets to the Friday, March 30th presentation of Florencia en el Amazonas? Opera Colorado is offering up two orchestra seat tickets (the best in the house!) as well as a pass to the Donor's Lounge for intermission.

When the great opera singer Florencia Grimaldi journeys up the Amazon to perform in Manaus, she re-examines her life and the love she left behind. Along for the journey are a host of other characters, including a journalist writing a book about Florencia and her life. The music, composed by Daniel Catan, has been compared to Italian composers such as Puccini – a lush romantic score that incorporates the Latin American rhythms of its setting. Inspired by Latin American writers such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Florencia en el Amazonas was a hit when it debuted at Houston Grand Opera and Seattle Opera. You won’t want to miss this Rocky Mountain regional premiere of Opera Colorado’s first Spanish-language opera.

Check out the pre-opera talk by Betsy Schwarm, one hour before each performance in the opera house. Ushers will direct you to the talk when you arrive. Plan to stay for the Q&A after the opera with General Director Greg Carpenter and Director of Artistic Planning Brad Trexell immediately following the performance in the orchestra section in front of the stage.

Just leave a comment on this post to be entered to win. Winner will be chosen at random on Monday, March 26. If winner does not confirm in 24 hours, a new winner will be selected. Good luck!
