New
this summer is the introduction of “Smart Art”, exciting, interactive
technology that will allow patrons to use their personal smart phones to
connect with the artists in dynamic and interesting ways. Enhancing the
existing “Guide by Cell” audio tour, the galleries will initiate
“Augmented Reality” technology on select pieces representing every
artist in the show. Visitors will have the option to download “Layar”, a
free app, allowing them to use their smartphone to fill their screens
with additional information about the art and artist, links to video,
and other features. Using iPads provided for onsite use by the Arvada
Center, a fun, new interactive photo app will give visitors the
opportunity to create their own art to share in a digital space. This
new technology will further enhance the gallery experience for long time
art aficionados and novices alike.

artists aim to explore the artistic dialogue that these genres have
created in art and the continued evolution of their various

state’s top galleries to help secure these top-flight artists." The

featured in this invitational series will include Bill Amundson, Noah
Kalina, Monique Crine, Jenny Morgan, Rick Dula, and Alan Chimacoff.

Our
faces embody our identities and are what we present to the world.
Inevitably, when someone says a person’s name, their face is the first
image to pop into your head. Not the car they drive, the career they
pursue, their favorite color or food, but their face. This exhibition
aims to explore the dialogue that faces create and have created over
time in artwork. Artists represented in the FACES exhibition

When
one thinks of place, we think of an architectural landmark, urban
landscape, or somewhere as simple as home. It is we, as human beings,
who often define them as a place. These places can be large or small,
inside or out, but we determine their function or purpose. No matter
where we go, we are always in a place, both literally and
metaphorically. The artists in this exhibition express their
interpretation of place through many forms of media and matter, giving
credence to the sense of place. Artists represented in PLACES include
Marc Berghaus; Lisa Calzavara; Alan Chimacoff; Rick Dula; Sharon Feder;
Sarah McKenzie; David Menard; Chandler Romeo and Denis Roussel.

The
work of both Lanny DeVuono and Earl Schofield explore untouched space -
the landscape, the open vista, the sky, the oceans and the clouds.
Whereas traditional landscape paintings have only one, maybe more
central focal points, these artists stand further back with a wider
lens, and depict spaces for what they are, sprawling land and nature,
occasionally interrupted in their scope, but stretching further and
further nonetheless. The works of these artists are a poignant example
of the space that once was, and still can be, and will draw everyone
closer to look at their exacting details.
Exhibition Details:
The
Arvada Center galleries are free and open to the public Monday –
Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and
Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The galleries are also open until 7:30
p.m. on evenings with theater presentations and outdoor concerts. Free
docent-led tours of the Arvada Center’s gallery exhibitions and history

There will be two free panel discussions moderated by Erik Isaac and Michael Keen from the Untitled Art Show,
one on Thursday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. with Adam Milner (Faces), Sarah

(Faces), and Chandler Romeo (Places). The other will take place on
Saturday, August 4 at 1:30 p.m. with Sharon Brown (Faces), Barbara Shark
(Faces), Lisa Calzavara (Places), Sharon Feder (Places), Rick Dula
