Nev. won't defend marriage ban in court

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto announced on Monday that the state will no longer defend the state's marriage equality ban in court, citing recent court decisions against such bans.

"After thoughtful review and analysis, the State has determined that its arguments grounded upon equal protection and due process are no longer sustainable," Masto, a Democrat, said in a statement. Republican Nev. Gov. Brian Sandoval has indicated that he agrees with the move by the attorney general's office.
