Gay marriage campaigns lacking gay people?

 
Advertisements designed to sway voters to support marriage rights for same-sex couples mostly feature testimony from straight allies, according to this Washington Post article.

Why is that?

“The moderate tough guys we need to flip to win a couple of these races are still the ones who say that gays are gross,” said Andy Szekeres (pictured), a gay,  Denver-based political and fundraising consultant. “Pushing people to an uncomfortable place, it’s something you can’t do in a TV ad."

Things to do in Denver when you're gay: Benefit for Stan Garnett at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret

A veritable Denver's gay power brokers, including Andy Szekeres, Michael Brewer, and Ted Trimpa, are hosting a benefit for Colorado Attorney General hopeful Stan Garnett this Monday at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret.

According to nationally known political consultant Andy Szekeres, "Stan Garnett is the best chance to elect a pro-equality Attorney General that we have seen in years.
