Dave Koz - Summertime in NYC

Chart-topping, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Dave Koz returns with the perfect feel-good anthem for the season – the sultry “Summertime In NYC (Instrumental Mix),” which goes to radio on June 6. Koz wrote, produced and arranged the song in New York City with Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken (Rihanna, Christina Aguilera). He recruited Earth, Wind & Fire percussion legend Ralph Johnson to play on the breezy track. Listen HERE.

Dave Koz says, “We wrote this song in March 2020 as an anthem to the people of NYC, celebrating their resilience during the pandemic. To see the city roaring back so strong now, is further testament to these amazing people. There simply is nothing quite like Summertime in NYC!”

His return to radio comes after scoring three back-to-back No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Airplay chart with “Side By Side” ft. David Sanborn, “Dr. Norm” ft. Paul Jackson, Jr. and “The Closer We Get” – all from his recent album, A New Day, which topped numerous jazz charts, including iTunes and Amazon.

Koz will perform as special guest on Barry Manilow’s summer U.S. arena tour, which kicks off on August 4 at TD Garden in Boston, MA. See below for itinerary. Tickets are available HERE. He will also tour Europe with Cory Wong – his collaborator on 2021’s The Golden Hour, an album they recorded live in the studio with a large jazz ensemble. After two recent sold-out Dave Koz & Friends At Sea voyages to Amsterdam and the British IslesKoz has already made plans for three 2023 voyages to Spain, Morocco and Portugal, which are sold-out also.
