Twelve Iranian men face execution for sodomy


Ten young Iranian men, including eight teenagers, are currently awaiting execution for sodomy, and two more are being re-tried on the same capital charge.

Not my next vacation

Even though Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad finally admits that there are probably a few gay people in Iran after claiming last year that there were absolutely none, I still think I'll pass on heading to Iran to find out for myself.

After all, Colorado has the seventh-largest gay population in the United States, so if I want gay, I can find it right here.

And while it's nice to know that Ahmadinejad has finally come out of the closet about the gay people in his country, with his attitude that homosexuality is an "unlikable and foreign act" that is illegal because it "shakes the foundations of society," "robs humanity" and "brings about disease," Iranian gays might have been safer before he acknowledged them.
