Pet of the Week: Niles

My name is Niles and I am very much a Scottish gentleman. I am a 4 year-old, 13 lb, West Highland White Terrier mix and I am definitely the cutest, sweetest and most loyal pup, you will ever find.

I am looking for an active home. Being a terrier, I can be very curious, so its best to keep me under supervision. I love to go for lots of walks and can keep up with the best of the walkers. I am active, smart and very social. I like well- mannered kids to play with and other dogs. I am not sure if I get along with cats because I've never met one.

My previous family relinquished me because they did not have time for me. So I will need your patience and gentle guidance during my training period. It would be great if you could attend Puppy Kindergarten with me for socialization and training so that I can be the superb canine citizen I'm meant to be!

Please come and see me. I can sit or walk with you and we can see what happens.

Pet of the Week: Addison

My name is Addison! I am a 4-year-old, 65 lb. bulldog/mastiff mix. My mom was pure English bulldog. I was relinquished by my family because they have a new baby and they felt that I was jealous of it getting all the attention.

I am a cheerful and well behaved dog, liking both men and women. I know some commands like “sit”, “stay” and “drop” (which means lie down). My last family told me when I could eat by saying “OK dig in" and I take treats very politely. I also enjoy Kongs – especially with cheese treats inside!

I like a blanket to burrow under when I go to sleep at night and I enjoy meeting people and taking walks - so if you stop by maybe I could do both!

Pet of the Week: Gemini

My name is Gemini, and I'm a 10 year old Black Lab mix. I’m a shy girl, but once I love you there is no turning back.
Due to financial issues, my previous humans had to relinquish me along with my canine pal. It was discovered I had a torn ACL. MaxFund made certain I got the surgery and rehab I needed.

During my rehab at the MaxFund Wellness Center, my canine friend was adopted. Now it is my turn! I came to the shelter trained with all the basics and extras to boot. I want nothing more than to please my beloved humans. I will spend all day snoozing at your feet if you let me.

If you are interested in this very special girl, please contact the MaxFund Wellness Center at 303-595-0532 to set-up a meeting in person.

Pet of the Week: Jimmy

My name is Jimmy and I am a happy, handsome husky mix and am not even a year old yet.

I am a friendly, laid-back dog. I like other friendly dogs – especially those about my size. I walk calmly on a leash and I enjoy being gently petted. I am easy going – for example I just lie down if someone wants to interrupt our walk by stopping to talk to the human - I am also fine with being brushed, which is a good thing since I will need periodic grooming because I have a thick double coat that keeps me warm in cold Colorado winters.

Pet of the Week: Cessy

My name is Cessy and I am a very sweet, slightly shy and dainty little Chihuahua mix. I came to MaxFund from another shelter. My previous human moved and couldn't take me with her. I am only two years old, and I'm ready to start a new life with another loving person -- this time it will be forever!!

I am ready to find a new home because it's just a tad bit noisy here with all these dogs talking at once. How rude! I am more of a quiet lady who would much rather be cuddling in someone's lap and being spoiled. Even though I am little, I like to walk and get fresh air and then get back home for more spoiling. Is that too much to much to ask?

Pet of the Week: Roxy

Look at me! Look at me! My name is Roxy and I am a happy and exuberant nine-years-young, 14 lb Jack Russell Terrier.

True to my breed, I am a very energetic and active gal who loves life and loves walks ... in fact, I normally run with one of the volunteers. You should see my four little legs go, heh, heh! Then while we are running, I love to just lie down in the grass with my back legs out and smile! If I roll over, that means I need a tummy rub!

Pet of the Week: Mercedes

Hello! I am a demure and elegant four-year old Chow Chow. I get lots of compliments about my unusual and very pretty blue-grey, almost violet, colored coat, which is also very soft.

I have liked everyone I have met so far and I am more affectionate towards strangers than is typical for a Chow Chow. However, because I am quite easily frightened, a family with teenagers or adults only would be best for me. I know I will blossom in a calm environment. I walk well on a leash and I would love a yard to play in. I am just learning how much fun playtime and walks can be! I am also learning to sit and I take treats gently. I think further positive reinforcement classes will help me gain even more confidence.

And for a wonderful charity event that will benefit MaxFund, be sure to check out this year's Rock 'n Roll for Charity Car Show on July 19.

Pet of the Week: Gizmo

I am a four-year old Labrador-pug mix, which accounts for my compact size, my friendly personality, and my cute (so I am told) looks! I was brought to MaxFund by a kind friend and neighbor of my last owner, who could no longer keep me. I am sorry I have lost my family but I am making friends here and am optimistically hoping to find my forever family soon! I am an affectionate dog who likes men, women, and children. If you are looking for a happy, energetic, and very affectionate companion please come by MaxFund and ask to meet me. My name is Gizmo and I have a kennel in the Big Dog Room (even though I am just medium sized).

Pet of the Week: Nina

My name is Nina and I am an elegant four year old Lab mix.

I had a rough time after having pups and went through a neglectful situation. I was lucky to come to MaxFund from another shelter. I show lots of love and am gentle and social. That's the Labrador part of me. I am also very well mannered and good with commands. I "sit" and "come" on command and I have beautiful leash manners. I figure if I want to go out for a walk, I’d better be good.

Pet of the Week: Hydro

This big boy's name is Hydro and he came from another shelter, so not much is known about him as yet. He sure love to play, though, you can tell that from his photo. He looks like he'd be an awesome buddy to take hiking or out to play in the park and he does know the 'sit' command so he's probably had some training and would be a good candidate for more.

Pet of the Week: Peaches

Hello! My name is Peaches. came over to MaxFund after I was relinquished elsewhere, so not much is known about me.

I am a sweet and shy girl but I’m sure that, in the company of my new and forever family, I will blossom.

Experience with my breed will be a big plus. We American Bulldogs are typically happy, friendly, and assertive dogs who are at ease with family and fine with outsiders with whom we are acquainted. We tend to bond strongly with our humans. We are working dogs with high energy drives, and so American Bulldogs do best in a home with a large backyard and plenty of exercise.

I do have a medical condition that is well controlled with medication. The nice folks at MaxFund can tell you all about it.
