Flavor: Denver's Urban PRIDE Celebration

IAMDesign in partnership with TasTease Premier will celebrate Pride month with FLAVOR: Denver's Urban Pride Celebration, a series of events that will cater to the "Urban GLBT community of Colorado." This is the first time Pride events will be hosted with an "Urban emphasis" and they promise to add plenty of spice to the weekend of June 14-16.

Things kick off at NORAD Dance Bar on Friday June 14, continue on Saturday June 15 at The Roxy, and conclude with a Unity Picnic on Sunday June 16, and an old school grown and sexy night in the lounge of Norad Dance Bar.

Frank Kameny honored for a lifetime of activism

Pioneering LGBT-rights activist Frank Kameny, who helped organize the first gay-rights march in front of the White House and played an instrumental role in having homosexuality removed from the list of mental illnesses, will be recognized for his lifetime of activism during this year's Washington, D.C., pride festival.

"He's indomitable. There's no one else like him in the movement," said Dudley Clendinen, co-author of a book about the gay-rights movement in the U.S. "He doesn't relent. He doesn't really negotiate. ... The culture gradually came around to recognize what he early on insisted was fair and true."
