Ready for the new season of Spartacus?

The full-frontal fleshfest 'Spartacus' returns soon for a second season minus former star Andy Whitfield who had to be replaced due to health issues.

The new series will star Dustin Clare whose bio at Starz.com says, "Dustin Clare plays Gannicus, the rising champion gladiator of Batiatus’ ludus in “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena,” a Starz original action-adventure drama series."

'Spartacus: Gods of the Arena' premieres January 21 on Starz. - via The Torch

Xena shouldn't wear her hair like that

My goddess, my love, my all, my Lucy Lawless was interviewed by EW's Michael Ausiello at Comic-Con about her new role on Starz's new gladiator series Spartacus. She talks about the show's full-frontal nudity and sex scenes, being fitted for a merkin, and whether she'd ever return as Xena (she would!).

She's fun but she shouldn't wear her hair like that. And that Michael Aussiello is just adorable.

Here's some information about the show from www.LucyLawless.info:

The world of gladiators comes to life as the Roman Empire's most brutal fighters clash in the ultimate arena. Starz's new series, "Spartacus," an entirely new twist on the ancient legend, will utilize virtual environments giving it a unique graphic novel look and style, along with a fresh narrative approach. Debuting exclusively on Starz, "Spartacus" will be produced by Starz Media with Executive Producers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Joshua Donen. The announcement was made today by Stephan Shelanski, executive vice president, programming, for Starz Entertainment. It will begin production in early 2009, debuting on Starz and its suite of channels later in the year.

Sounds like it could be good.

They just better have a part for Renee O'Connor!
