Free music download: Tom Goss

Tom Goss, of the Rock the Folk OUT Tour that came to Denver a few months ago, is offering up one of his earliest songs for free download at ReverbNation.com.

Tom says, "'Go' is the first song that I ever committed to recording in 2000 (in my room in Warrensburg, MO no less). Although you can tell it’s early in my songwriting and recording experience I have always been happy with what I captured."

Check it out and, if you missed it the first time around, check out the Rock the Folk OUT boys performing an exquisite rendition of Coldplay's 'Yellow' at The Walnut Room.

Jake Walden comes to Pride in the Park

Just heard that dreamboat Jake Walden will be performing at Fort Collins Pride in the Park this year.

He's really a talented musician so be sure to check him - and Pride in the Park - out.

Jake, Tom Goss, and Stewart Lewis recently came through Denver with their Rock the Folk OUT tour and it really was a great show.

Below, the Rock the Folk OUT boys perform a cover of Coldplay's 'Yellow' at the Walnut Room.

Meiko comes to the Walnut Room

As her lead single "Boys With Girlfriends" continues to heat up at radio, singer-songwriter Meiko has announced plans for her first-ever headlining tour, set to hit Denver's Walnut Room (one of my absolute favorite venues in town) on May 20.

Over the course of the past few months, Meiko's been featured alongside Jack Johnson and Sara Bareilles in a USA Today cover story about the "new wave of troubadours." Then she was given a spotlight of her own on the cover of the Los Angeles Times Calendar section. That was followed by stunning performances of lead single "Boys With Girlfriends" on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and the season premiere of "The Bonnie Hunt Show." After that came a nationwide promotion with iTUNES and Starbucks, in which she was one of a select group of artists highlighted on a free sampler card distributed throughout 2,100 Starbucks shops nationwide. She also recently performed on "Last Call with Carson Daly." Meiko is also featured on the new Crystal Method album, 'Divided By Light', singing lead on a track she co-wrote entitled "Falling Hard."

The Terry Quiett Band at The Walnut Room

Matt and I hit up the Walnut Room on Friday to catch The Terry Quiett Band. I always have a great time at The Walnut Room and this was no exception. The Terry Quiett Band rocked the house. Of course, I was partial to the band's openly gay bass-player Aaron Underwood. Good-looking and talented is a hard combo to beat.

According to the Walnut Room's website, that night was sold out, but if you missed them, don't fret. They'll be back in August. In the meantime, befriend 'em on myspace here.

Matt loves three things. Satan. Cheetos. And The Terry Quiett Band.

I'm going to see the Terry Quiett Band at The Walnut Room tonight

I'd invite you all to come on down but it looks like the show has already sold out. The Walnut Room's a great space, though, so keep 'em in mind for a night out on the town. I saw The Pipettes there several months ago and it was one of the best concerts I've been to in a long time.
