Auditions for Steve Martin's 'Picasso at the Lapin Agile

Senior Housing Options (SHO) is holding auditions for non-Equity actors on Friday, March 19, from 1-4 p.m. for 'Picasso at the Lapin Agile' by Steve Martin, directed by openly gay local director Terry Dodd.

In "Picasso at the Lapin Agile," comedian Steve Martin turns his sharp, funny mind to a fictional meeting between Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a bar- the Lapin Agile (the "Swift Rabbit")- in 1904 Paris.

Auditions: Gravity Defied Theatre

Gravity Defied Theatre will hold auditions for its spring musical, Jonathan Van Dyke’s “Totally Electric”, at Christ Church United Methodist, 690 Colorado Boulevard at Seventh Avenue, on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 and Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 7-9p.m. and on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 1-3 p.m.; callbacks will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 7 p.m.

Casting for all roles is open; Gravity Defied Theatre is looking for high-school aged actors or those who can perform at that age.

Auditioners are asked to prepare and bring two different music selections: one ballad and one up-tempo (preferably not from musical theatre) in a pop/rock style or a musical theatre piece of this genre. Eighties songs are preferred. There will be a choreography portion of the audition, so dress comfortably. No prepared monologues will be necessary; Gravity Defied will provide monologues from the show, should you be asked to read.

Denver Gay Men's Chorus announces auditions

The Denver Gay Men’s Chorus (DGMC) will audition new members during the week of September 13. Auditions usually consist of something familiar, like “America” (AKA “God Save the Queen”) or “You Are My Sunshine” (AKA “Sie sind mein Sonnenschein”), checking vocal range, and testing note-matching ability.

The Chorus regularly rehearses Sunday evenings at Christ Church United Methodist at 690 Colorado Boulevard from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. If you are interested in auditioning, contact the DGMC at info@rmarts.org before September 12 and put “DGMC Audition” in the subject line.
