Nice to See StevieB: Three Weeks

By StevieB
*swimsuit not representative
of how Steve will look.

It's just three weeks until the big gay cruise. This means my dietary intake has been reduced to lettuce and dust. Well, and coffee.
I decided to buy one of those "motivational" swimsuits. The type that I'll never really be able to look good wearing, yet I walk by five times a day, as it sits atop my dresser mocking me. "I will let the Caribbean sun see you, Speedo! I will." I just need to eat as if I was Karen Carpenter.

In my food-deprived state, I have realized how unprepared I am for this trip. Other than my Speedo. Last night, I realized the reservation I made for a rental car for Fort Lauderdale was promptly deleted by me. I had zero information in regard to the reservation. Thankfully I had used my credit card points to pay for it, so I called the helpful credit card elves to find it for me. Yay.

If you need me for the next three weeks, I'll be at the gym. I'll be the one with a trail of empty Slim-Fast cans behind me and a glazed-over pre-cruise lack of carbs pallor.

Winter heats up with new Australian swimwear line

Western Australian underwear company, 2wink Australia, has created a line of swimwear called Aussie Defence AUS12 as a follow-up to its first ever swimwear range launched in 2011, which included styles named after famous Aussie stars.

“We’ve created comfortable swimwear that’s perfectly Australian: sexy and stylish,” says 2wink Australia co-owner Carl McNeill. “We hope that guys around the world will catch on to the AUS12 theme with AUS representing Australia and 12 being the current year; 2012.”

Popular fitness model Lee Stram (above) modeled the new line, and is featured in some of 2wink Australia’s videos on YouTube - definitely worth a watch!

Instinct heats up February with annual swimsuit issue

Instinct readers know they can always count on a little humor (and a lot of sass) sprinkled in with the latest in entertainment, fashion, travel and generally all things gay each month. But come February each year, there’s a little something extra that the most loyal of readers anticipate—Instinct’s Annual Swimsuit Issue! And February 2012 kicks off with possibly their sexiest swimsuit cover yet.

Fulfilling their pledge to feature openly gay men on their covers, Pablo Hernandez stripped down and suited up this month, showcasing the hottest swimwear for pool party season 2012. But, as with each and every issue of Instinct, this cover guy’s got more than just a pretty face (and bangin’ bod). In the February cover story, “The Role Of A Lifetime,” this actor/model explains how youth advocacy is his true passion and how he turned his life around after some troubling times as a teen.

Of course Pablo’s sandy shoot isn’t the only place you’ll find some hot swimwear this month. The Instinct fashion team took over Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier, armed with designer shorts and a few good men, resulting in some handsome “Beach Boys” that offer a little something for everyone.

This month, Instinct is also taking readers to some very different travel locations, all with one common theme: sun! Go island hopping on a tour of Hawaii as the mag showcases the poshest destinations to stay and play in Maui, Lanai and Kauai. Then, grab your life vest and head down the river with a few good gays to explore South Africa’s Orange Pride Safari.

All that, plus Bravo-lebrity Tabatha Coffey brings her tough talk to the Soapbox and Graffiti6 hottie Jamie Scott talks music in the February 2012 issue of Instinct Magazine—now available in print and in iPad and iPhone versions. Wish you were here?

Intrepid reporters Josh & Josh venture south of the border to the Axel Hotel in Buenos Aires to cover (or uncover) the story of what goes on "Behind The Scenes" at Passport's annual swimwear photo shoot.

I'm so jealous.

It's swimsuit season! It's underwear season! Aw, it's both ...

... and I still need to lose that 20 pounds that was suppposed to have been gone by PrideFest. I'll use the following pics from IQONIC for motivation instead of sadness and jealousy.

Actually, I'm pretty lucky because I lose fat and gain muscle fast if I just go to the gym consistently. But that's the problem. Consistency. I need a good personal trainer. Does anybody know one? I actually know a couple. Jeff at Studio 29 whipped me into great shape in only 12 weeks for a series of articles I did for Out Front Colorado (I'll dig around in my archives and see if I can post them up later today). And then there's Push Gym on Broadway. One of the guys there did lots of good things for me. I should call him.
