Synchronicity in the City with Mile High Freedom Band and Harmony


Two local glbts groups will celebrate synchronicity as they join forces to perform with each other in concerts this weekend, May 2 and 3, and May 16. Denver’s Mile High Freedom Band, celebrating its 25th anniversary and Harmony: a Colorado chorale will be sharing the stage in separate concerts.

'Broadway Bound', Harmony’s production, is a star-studded review of tunes from Broadway musicals throughout the past eighty years. Numbers include “The Ascot Gavotte” from “My Fair Lady” and a set of selections from “The Wizard of Oz”, “The Wiz”, and “Wicked”. The Band and Harmony will perform 'Richard Rodgers in Concert', which showcases numbers from “Oklahoma!”, “The Sound of Music”, “Babes in Arms”, and “The King and I”.

'Broadway Bound' will be performed Saturday May 2, 8 p.m. and Sunday May 3, 3p.m. at Grant Avenue Community Center and Sacred Space, 216 S. Mile High Freedom Band will perform its 25th Anniversary Concert Saturday May 16, 7 p.m. at the Conservatory Theatre at the Robert and Judi Newman Center at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. The Band concert will include “Victory at Sea” and “The Divine Comedy”. Harmony will join the Band to perform “Richard Rodgers in Concert” and “When You Believe”.
