Things to do in Denver when you're gay: Winter Wake-up!

The Mile High Freedom Band's annual Winter concert takes place Saturday, February 25 at the Broomfield Auditorium at 7:30pm. 

The concert is titled Winter Wake-up! - An Antidote to the Winter Blues.  The concert will be a collection of lively classical pieces sure to lift your spirits, and will also mark the debut of Mile High Freedom Band's new percussion ensemble as well as an original piece by Justin Hatcher.

Things to do in Denver When You're Gay: This American Music Concert by Mile High Freedom Band

The next Mile High Freedom Band concert is coming up Friday, November 12 and marks the debut of new artistic director Rice Majors. The band will be playing a program of American composers and the MC for the night will be the illustrious Eda Bagel.

The concert is free with doors opening at 7pm for our silent auction preview with the concert beginning at 7:30pm.

Synchronicity in the City with Mile High Freedom Band and Harmony


Two local glbts groups will celebrate synchronicity as they join forces to perform with each other in concerts this weekend, May 2 and 3, and May 16. Denver’s Mile High Freedom Band, celebrating its 25th anniversary and Harmony: a Colorado chorale will be sharing the stage in separate concerts.

'Broadway Bound', Harmony’s production, is a star-studded review of tunes from Broadway musicals throughout the past eighty years. Numbers include “The Ascot Gavotte” from “My Fair Lady” and a set of selections from “The Wizard of Oz”, “The Wiz”, and “Wicked”. The Band and Harmony will perform 'Richard Rodgers in Concert', which showcases numbers from “Oklahoma!”, “The Sound of Music”, “Babes in Arms”, and “The King and I”.

'Broadway Bound' will be performed Saturday May 2, 8 p.m. and Sunday May 3, 3p.m. at Grant Avenue Community Center and Sacred Space, 216 S. Mile High Freedom Band will perform its 25th Anniversary Concert Saturday May 16, 7 p.m. at the Conservatory Theatre at the Robert and Judi Newman Center at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. The Band concert will include “Victory at Sea” and “The Divine Comedy”. Harmony will join the Band to perform “Richard Rodgers in Concert” and “When You Believe”.
