Transgender community faces workplace inequality

Despite the passage of workplace discrimination laws in the last several decades, transgender workers continue to faces inequality, Washington Blade columnist Lateefah Williams (pictured left) writes, cites several examples of job candidates who claim to have been rejected because of their trans status.

"The Labor movement and the March on Washington have done a great deal to advance the cause of workplace equality, but the task is not complete," Williams writes. "Transgender people, in particular, face huge barriers to finding gainful employment."
