Bob Mould's new album Silver Age available September 4

Bob Mould will release Silver Age, his first album of all new studio material since 2009’s Life And TimesSeptember 4 on Merge. The new record features Bob's current band--drummer Jon Wurster (Superchunk) and bassist Jason Narducy (Telekinesis, ex-Verbow)--on 10 brand new Mould compositions in the punishingly loud melodically sparkling pop/rock vein of the Sugar catalogue, which was reissued on Merge July 24.

I just got the link for the download a short while ago so I'll give it a listen tonight and let you know what I think of it tomorrow.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Denver is on Bob's tour schedule this fall but maybe we'll get lucky and we'll get lucky and he'll bring Blowoff back to the Mile High City soon.

Bob Mould's Blowoff

Alt rock legend Bob Mould and electro-rocker Richard Morel are bringing Blowoff, their consistently sold-out bi-coastal dance party, to San Diego's Casbah on Saturday April 9. Blowoff (named after the final match in a wrestling feud), which the duo hosts and DJs, was established in DC about five years ago-started small-guys playing records for buddies-and is now a regularly packed event in six cities: DC, NYC, Provincetown, Chicago, San Francisco and, come April 9, San Diego. Blowoff is at Slim's in San Francisco the following night, April 10.

Sounds hot.

So what do we have to do to get this party to come to Denver?

Bob Mould in Newsweek

Did you catch legendary (and gay) Husker Du frontman Bob Mould in 'Newsweek' recently? He's got a new CD out, too.
