Blogging Day of Silence

On the National Day of Silence (April 16), hundreds of gay bloggers - including yours truly - will take a vow of silence (no blogging) to bring attention to anti-gay name-calling, bullying and harassment in our nation's schools. - via WickedGayBlog

Day of Silence 2010

On April 16th, a loud silence will be felt throughout many schools, colleges and universities around the nation. What is now known as the National Day of Silence began 13 years ago at the University of Virginia. Over 150 students participated in using silence as a form of peaceful protest to draw attention to the bullying and violence directed at LGBT students. The number of participants has dramatically increased since then. The Day of Silence website reports, "In 2008, hundreds of thousands of students from more than 8,000 K-12 schools, colleges and universities organized Day of Silence events."  - via Lambda Center

Colorado Springs Day of Silence

The Colorado Springs Day of Silence was moved because of inclement weather and will take place this Friday, April 24th at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

This is your chance to stand together with the community as we honor those who have faced discrimination, violence and even death for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.
